For this year’s memcom conference and awards, the Taylor Bloxham Group was asked to provide creative communication and strategic production solutions. Following a successful event, the creative design and communications strategy that the Taylor Bloxham Group helped to develop has received much praise.

What is the memcom conference and awards?

Held at County Hall in London on 16th May, the memcom awards celebrate and recognise achievements in the sectors of professional associations, membership organisations and the wider non-profit sector.

The goal was to ensure that the memcom 2018 event actively engaged more of the membership sector’s key players than any other event in the year. On the back of our work, the event attracted the highest ever levels of engagement, with a total of 28 awards presented across the three categories of marketing communications and membership, innovation and people.

What was Taylor Bloxham involved in?

The Taylor Bloxham Group and creative design agency Triad worked together to develop the concept underpinning the whole event. Inspired by the conference theme of ‘Staying Ahead in Challenging Times’, mountaineering and exploration graphics and icons were used for the event dressing as well as in all the communication materials leading up to and during the day.

Taylor Bloxham’s sponsorship commitment comprised of printing the event guides, personalised menus, and installing the wall graphics and wayfinding signage that were designed by Triad, the other sponsorship partner. We even manufactured the trophies that were used on the night of the awards.

Developing the whole concept from design to print

Anna Rivers, marketing manager at memcoms felt that the strength of the design and materials played a key role in creating the most successful event in the organisation’s history. She commented:  “It was clear from the outset that we had found true experts. The creative concepts and designs were eye-catching and original. Every piece of collateral produced by the Taylor Bloxham Group was of extremely high quality and meticulously thought out, exceeding all our expectations.”

This was the first time that we have worked on the memcom conference and awards. As their flagship event, it was exciting to be so involved in the ideas and planning and to help contribute to the event’s success.
