At the Taylor Bloxham Group, we have many high-profile clients. However, they don’t come much more prestigious than our client, BAFTA.

The worlds of show business and the printing industry rarely mix but they came together recently when some team members from our printing group attended the 2018 Virgin TV British Academy Television Awards on the back of their work for the ceremony.

Printing for the entertainment industry

Held at the Royal Festival Hall on London’s South Bank on Sunday 13th May, members of our printing and design team were joined at the BAFTAs by household names such as Sir David Attenborough, Mo Farah, Clare Balding and Claire Foy.

It’s not often that you get to mix with famous faces and well-known actors when you work in the print industry, so as you can imagine, it is always an exciting evening for us.

The full list of winners from the evening are available to view here. We extend our congratulations to all of the winners from the night.

How did the Taylor Bloxham Group help BAFTA?

This is the third consecutive year we have worked for BAFTA and this year our work included printing the programmes for each of the four annual BAFTA award shows – games, television, television craft and children’s.

For the 2018 Virgin TV British Academy Television Awards, which we attended, Taylor Bloxham printed the official BAFTA programme as well as the entry tickets for the evening. The 100-page brochure included the list of nominations, exclusive interviews with Kate Adie and John Motson, a special photographic essay featuring television stars and an in memoriam section.

The brochure was printed on a combination of Soporcel uncoated paper and Garda Gloss for the coated section. Woodfree, the paper offers high whiteness and good opacity, as well as addressing carbon impact issues. With such a world-renowned organisation as BAFTA, all the printed collateral not only has to be high quality, but also ethically produced to ensure it reflects the brand values of the organisation.

Collaborative work with designers

For this project, we were fortunate to work with some talented designers and we are delighted with the end result. This year, the programme’s cover was designed by AKQA and took inspiration from this year’s ceremony set and how shared viewing experiences remain popular with UK families.

Once the programme’s design was completed by BAFTA’s in-house team, the printing process for the prestigious event began. By investing in the latest print technologies, we are able to ensure a quick turnaround with a superior finish which is important to clients like BAFTA who require speed, value and excellence.
